Katherine Heigl is a TV producer who is waiting for “Mr. Right”, when “Mr. Wrong”, Gerard Butler, a straight talking TV host who hosts a segment called The Ugly Truth, is notorious for telling the truth about men. He feels that women expect too much and men will only be won over by getting their own way and women must just accept this.
The pair are forced to work together as he is given a spot on her morning show and he is soon coaching her on how to ensnare a man, but by defying her own high standards in the process. He’s Gerard Butler and Heigl was the rom-com star of the hour so you can imagine the comedy of errors and hi-jinx which ensue as the pair fall in love but are too stubborn to admit it.
Amusing in parts but utterly and pointless predictable throughout. It’s just a totally formulaic movie, with zero imagination in the casting and paint by numbers performances, but if you’re in love with either star then this is the film for you.
