The final, final trailer is here and what an impact it has made. For the first time, J.J. Abram’s Star Trek sequel has managed to excite me as last on Tuesday night, I sat down and watched the trailer. Finally, it’s looking like a Star Trek movie, not Trek in the Next Generation way but Star Trek in the Wrath Of Khan sense.
Is John Harrison Khan? Gary Mitchell? In 23 days we’ll find out but in the meantime a plot is forming and with the possible destruction of the Enterprise looming, this is shaping up to be an action packed epic Sci-fi adventure, hopefully darker than the less than completely satisfying 2009 reboot. Basically, I’m liking what I’m seeing but hope that there’s more to this than what is being given away in the trailer so far.
In the U.K, the release date is the 9th May, whist the date remains the 17th in the U.S. and this one movie which I will not be missing. Just glad to see that the Transformers (2007) vibe which dominated the first teaser trailer has been replaced, not to say that there’s anything wrong with Transformers, as I’m a huge fan, but it’s a step too far for Trek.
Star Trek Into Darkness hits theatres in May.
