HAPPY GILMORE

1996

DIRECTOR: Dennis Dugan

NOT A PART OF OUR COLLECTION

May Contain Spoilers!

Will we be adding this to our collection?  NO

Adam Sandler. He’s an acquired taste and I’m still waiting get it. Happy Gilmore is a throw-back to comedies such as Caddyshack (1980), at the same time that Tin Cup (1992) was probably doing it better, and that’s saying something! I did not like this in any way, but to judge it fairly, it wasn’t all bad, if you like this sort of thing, I suppose.

I can see teenage boys liking it, or it possibly providing some background entertainment if you were asleep…? This is just a children’s hour farce from the opening frame, set in the world of golf and I’m just not sure who this is aimed at. (Pardon the pun!)

Avoid if you like to stimulate your brain, as all this can offer are a few pretty colours and some cheap laughs that I wouldn’t recommend for your kids, even though that’s probably who it’s trying to appeal to!

Sad Gil-more like…
