28 DAYS LATER

2002

DIRECTOR: Danny Boyle

I was expecting a boring, boring film. The idea of watching a Cillian Murphy walking across a post apocalyptic Westminster Bridge just wasn’t riveting enough for me. Well, after 10 years, I finally sat down and watched this and it was better than that, much better.

Boyle’s cinematography was as sharp as ever, making the most mundane shots interesting and at times, beautiful and terrifying in equal measure. There was also more going on than just zombies stalking the last man on earth as suggested in the trailer. Murphy was strong as the lead as was Christopher Eccleston as the dubious Major but these are two of a stand out cast but all in all, entertaining and scary at the same time.
