MEAN GIRLS

2004

7/10

Surprising good commentary on young women, or maybe just women in general and their territorial attitudes toward life and particularly each other. Though disguised as a teen chick flick, there was a clear subtext at work here, to reveal the darker nature of women and their attitudes towards each other that I believe many girls and women would find very relatable.
And though it suggests that these attitudes are wrong or misguided, it also accepts that this is just the way it… Human nature and all that…

As for the film as a whole, it was well paced, performed and written and enjoyable.
