DIRECTOR OF THE MONTH – PETE DOCTER & BOB PRESTON

The criteria for Director Of The Month is a director with a 10/10 film, or nearest. Where there are several, the deciding factor is to tally the directors complete works, and the one with the highest number of 10/10 movies wins.

This month is was between -

LAWRENCE KASDAN for “WYATT EARP”

& PETE DOCTER & BOB PRESTON for “UP”

It was a close call this month, but in the end, it was up which won out. Though Pete Docter’s directorial work is not something that I’m very familiar with, his writing and producing talent is certainly on my radar, with such works under his belt as Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The same to be said for Bob Preston.

Lawrence Kasden has also played a part in various successes but few that I would be bothered about. His involvement with “Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back” earns him a few points but his diabolical handling of Steven King’s “Dreamcatcher” helped make my decision.
