NOT A PART OF MY COLLECTION
CINEMA REVIEW
Firstly, a comment of the “so called 3D”. At £2.50 extra per ticket, you would expect to blown away, or at least mildly entertained by the gimmick, but this was flat as a pancake, and not just the 3D!
The characters and plotting were barely two dimensional and the overall feeling was that it was made only a few years after its’ namesake, so I would put it squarely in 1987, or ’88 at best. The acting was dull and lifeless. The plot was way too simple and the production values left a lot to be desired.
Loud and in many ways obnoxious, would be where I would start. In short, this was a film which operates under the belief that if you throw loud noises, the odd three dimensional object out of the screen and simplify the narrative to that of a childrens “Spot The Dog” story book, then the big bucks will role on in…
Are they correct…? Probably…
In the final analysis; Very poor 3D, flat characters, and not an inch of depth in the story. Not a complete waste of time and by no means should this be avoided but go in with low exceptions and maybe, just maybe you may get your money’s worth.
